- Put your “everyday” pieces someplace very accessible. If you have a ring or two, or even a favorite necklace or bracelet you wear everyday, I recommend taking it off and storing in the SAME place each night. This will end the, “oh no I can’t find it” moment!
- Jewelry is precious. It is special. It needs to be cared for. Use common sense and don’t scratch or bang your jewelry. ESPECIALLY handcrafted jewelry!
Today, in the midst of preparing for a sale, filling orders, teaching children, driving all over creation, processing all that is whirling in my head, and feeling vastly inadequate…I’m going to do just that. Be still.
What do YOU do when the overwhelm sets in? Do you have a favorite way to “re-group”? I’d love to know.

“Jewelry scares me! I never know how much to wear, or what to choose, or if I have to choose just one piece what is the best choice!” ~ Sarah M.
So there you go. Looking to choose one accessory, go for earrings. I promise you, you will look and feel like the shining star you are!

Whirlwind? Most definitely!
Next up? FIELD TRIP! I know as a homeschool family we should probably be going to museums and exploring archaeological digs…but hey, I offer them behind the scenes of talk shows and the news! (and yes, we do “other” educational trips too.) Seriously, I love having my girls come with me and see the “workings” of a TV studio, it’s fascinating!
Our first stop last week was EightWest, a hip morning talk show that keeps Grand Rapids up to date. We were talking Valentines Day and Spring jewelry! So much fun! Rachael and Terri are a pleasure to spend time with, and the entire production staff was amazing to my girls. They got behind the scenes tours and even a chance to visit the “weather room”. Thank you EightWest!
We rounded out our week with a quick stop on the couch of the Fox 17 newsroom…another one of my favorite places to visit. Tim and Michele always make me feel at ease. We talked jewelry….and ball markers….you’ll have to watch to see why!
I am humbled and grateful for EACH and EVERY opportunity. To be able to share what I love with all of you? Well, it just doesn’t get much better than that!
Some of you stay ahead of the trends. You have your fashionable wardrobe planned out before the season starts.
So what are your “must haves”?
Boots for winter? First let’s just say, even though I live in Michigan you cannot choose function over fashion all of the time. And knee high boots still remain popular! They work from skinny jeans to miniskirts with opaque tights. Mid height heel is best, and if you only buy one pair…go brown…best with jeans! (Stay tuned to read about my NEW favorite boots…so amazing….)
Over the knee socks. Still fabulous? Yes, but think thinner less chunky. More with skirts, less with jeans. I’m loving these that are available from Macy’s. So adorable!
I’m going with the hat and boots, and the over the knee socks. And maybe the earrings. Oh shoot, I think I’ll wear them all!
But of course my fav jewelry accessory for winter is this necklace. It goes with everything and adds some jingle…so festive!
